Ertech is pleased to announce we have been awarded the Landside Civils and Landscaping contract for the Spoilbank Marina Project in Port Hedland. The contract is the largest on the Project to date and supports the completion of the $187.5 million Spoilbank Marina Project. This final stage of the Project will bring the marina vision to life and provide a vibrant community gathering space for Port Hedland locals and visitors to enjoy.

The contract includes construction of the marina roads, car and trailer parking, retaining walls, footpaths, landscaping, public amenities building, shade structures, barbecue areas, and installation of utilities and services.

The Spoilbank Marina project is being managed and delivered by Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA), in collaboration with the Department of Transport, Western AustraliaDevelopmentWAPilbara Development CommissionBHP and the Town of Port Hedland.

The project team have mobilised to site to start work. Completion of the landside areas is expected in August 2024.

This contract is one of several contracts totalling $140+ million that Ertech has been awarded in regional WA in the last month.

The Spoilbank Marina located east of the Port of Port Hedland shipping channel, is being developed by the PPA for recreational boat use. Ertech has been engaged to deliver the civil and landscaping work (Package 4) for the marina, which includes:

Scope of Works

  • Detailed earthworks including cut and fill to achieve design subgrade levels.
  • Installing utilities, services, and infrastructure including gravity sewer, potable water main, fire water system, reticulation, electrical distribution network (switchboards and reticulation), CCTV and NBN.
  • Constructing roads, carparks, stormwater infrastructure, concrete paths, kerb, and medians.
  • Constructing a public amenities building
  • Fabricating and installing shade structures and other marina infrastructure
  • Installing street furniture
  • Hard and soft landscaping, including tree planting.
  • Installing signage and pavement markings.
  • Final testing and commissioning.

Ertech will self-perform the electrical work on the contract.
