Ertech has proudly supported the Motivation Foundation’s Civil & Mining Construction Academy since it began as the Ertech Construction Academy in 2008 -helping disengaged and disadvantaged young people find real career pathways into civil construction.
The program currently offers two Certificate II courses: Civil Construction and Resources Infrastructure Work Preparation, with further diversification of training opportunities in pipelines.
In just the last three years, the program has achieved:
- ✔️ 186 graduates
- ✔️ 197 participants secured employment
- ✔️ 672 mentoring sessions delivered
- ✔️ 588 high school students completed Try-a-Trade
- ✔️ Zero lost-time injuries
In addition to investing over $4 million in the Academy over the years, Ertech has employed numerous graduates from the program. We recently had the opportunity to meet the 2025 graduates and discuss apprenticeship programs at Ertech. We look forward to welcoming new graduates as they begin their career journey with us.
A huge thank you to the Motivation Foundation Ltd team, founder Jim Giumelli, and other sponsors for their unwavering commitment and contributions. Programs like this truly make a difference – for the young people involved and for our industry.
