The Cliff Nickel Project is an underground nickel mine close to the Mount Keith Mine some 400km north of Kalgoorlie owned and operated by BHP Billiton Nickel West.
Ertech were contracted to provide the civil infrastructure facilities while the underground mine was being developed. The works consisted of 7.0km of sealed and asphalted roads, drainage works, earthworks to the extension of camp facilities and HDPE lined ponds for waste materials.

Description
The Cliff Nickel Project is an underground nickel mine close to the Mount Keith Mine some 400km north of Kalgoorlie owned and operated by BHP Billiton Nickel West.
Ertech were contracted to provide the civil infrastructure facilities while the underground mine was being developed. The works consisted of 7.0km of sealed and asphalted roads, drainage works, earthworks to the extension of camp facilities and HDPE lined ponds for waste materials. All of the fill and basecourse material having to be made from ferrocrete using Caterpillar D11R dozers ripping and track rolling material as drilling and blasting could not be conducted due to the development of the underground operations.
Ertech were responsible for the design of the wearing surfaces.
