Description
The project involved converting an existing water storage dam into the first stage of a 750,000m2 HDPE Lined Tailings Storage Facility. The works had to be constructed during the summer months while controlling rainfall run-off and subsoil inflow.
- 70ha of forest clearing.
- 100ha of topsoil stripping.
- Removal of 40,000m3 of rock.
- Removal of 35,000m3 of unsuitable material.
- 200,000m3 of cut to fill and reshaping
- 300,000m3 of 300mm clay liner excavated and compacted.
- 25km of 160dia Draincoil for underdrainage system.
- 750,000m2 of 1.5mm HDPE liner.
- 20km of 100mm Dia Branch Drain.
The Project Team comprised a Project Manager, 3 Engineers, 7 Supervisors, 2 Safety Advisors, 3 Site Clerks with an average workforce of 120 Ertech employees.
