Ertech Construction Academy (ECA) Graduation 2017

As the school year draws to a close, a group of WA students have graduated with more than just a High School Certificate, having simultaneously achieved a nationally recognised Certificate II in Civil Construction.

The students completed the course at the Ertech Construction Academy (ECA), which provides practical hands-on training in a real life environment, providing students with the skills to make them “job ready” for the construction industry.

Year 11 and Year 12 Students attended the Academy one day per week during the year, gaining valuable experience from qualified South Metropolitan TAFE and Ertech trainers and supervisors, while still attending high school.
On 27 October in front of a large group of family members and school representatives, Jim Giumelli, Founding Director of Ertech Holdings and founder of the ECA, provided an address on “attitude” while acknowledging the skills and knowledge the trainees had gained through the program and presented the graduates with folders containing the Certificate II, Roller ticket and a Caterpillar key.
TAFE Trainer, Bob Ragg, then presented the major awards. Award recipients included ‘Best All Rounder’, which went to Keagan Watts of Woodvale Secondary College. Anthony Seminara of Mercy College was presented with an award for Consistent Achievement. The ‘Top Trainee’ award went to Mitchell Cunnane of Woodvale Secondary College.
