Ertech has been awarded the Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewal Project’s 2011 Winter Construction Safety Recognition Award.

This award recognises outstanding commitment to workplace safety.

Ertech’s current project includes rehabilitating and lining 7km of Channel No. 5, which will cut water losses and improve efficiency for irrigators. The project scope involved dewatering the channel, removing the silt, laying out a clay bed, reshaping the channel, covering the base with three runs of lining and re-fencing the entire section.

Since mid-May when the irrigation system shut down for the winter, contractors across the NVIRP region of northern Victoria have completed 45km of channel remediation, installed 100 water meters on the Waranga western channel, installed almost 100 channel regulators and 185 flume gates.
