The project involved large scale demolition in an established residential areas and immediately adjacent to an operating primary school. At completion, 24 campus buildings were demolished including lecture theatres, a gymnasium, library, cafeterias and administration buildings. Nearly 40,000m2 of pavement was removed and more than 12km of existing services located, decommissioned, excavated and removed.
The contract required the project achieve a rate of recycling of at least 85% of all material demolished. Ertech is proud of its achievement of recycling 90% of all materials generated from demolition work.
During the delivery of this 34 weeks contract, there were significant potential delays encountered including buried asbestos and working around contaminated soil.
