Ertech Construction Academy

Ertech Holdings has developed an innovative training academy to provide young people with a pathway into the civil construction industry. The initiative, driven and underwritten by Ertech Holdings, has support from education and industry leaders.

The Ertech Construction Academy provides students enrolled in Year 11 and 12 the opportunity to achieve nationally recognised Certificate II in Civil Construction through on-site training and workplace experience whilst still attending high school. Over 20 local schools have been involved in the Academy to date.

From 2017, the applicants joining the Certificate II program will be instructed by trainers from Australian Training Management and supported by Group personnel.

The Ertech Construction Academy has been successful in that graduates from every year have found immediate employment (with approximately half engaged by the Group). Of those, more than 75% remain employed in the civil construction industry.

Our company is a leader in the training and development of young indigenous people and in 2010 was awarded the “Indigenous Trainer of the Year Award” by the Civil Contractors Federation of WA. In 2014, Polytechnic West awarded the Academy the Employer Partnership Award. In addition the Academy program was awarded a NAB Schools First State Impact Award with Clontarf Aboriginal College in 2011.

Through the Ertech Construction Academies in Perth and the Kimberley have trained, mentored and provided career opportunities for 100 young graduates.
