Ertech was engaged by the City of Busselton to upgrade various coastal erosion protection infrastructures as part of a $45M redevelopment of the city’s iconic foreshore.

Ertech’s scope of works included:

  • Demolition of existing, aging infrastructures and removal of old timber piling
  • Installation of new vinyl sheet-piling
  • Construction of new exposed aggregate seawalls and concrete access stairs
  • Construction of vehicle access ramp adjacent to the Scout Road Jetty
  • Extension of the Scout Road Jetty
  • Construction of limestone retaining walls
  • Installation of a geosynthetic sand container (GSC) seawall east of the Scout Road Jetty

Temporary seawalls and constant dewatering were required as a significant portion of works fell below sea and groundwater levels
